A Winter Wedding to Remember: Lauren & Vincent at Hudson National Golf Club
Lauren and Vincent’s wedding at Hudson National Golf Club in Croton-on-Hudson was nothing short of magical. Despite the cold temperatures, their day was filled with warmth, love, and unforgettable moments that made it truly special. From intimate getting-ready moments to stunning sunset photos over the golf course, every detail was thoughtfully curated, creating a celebration full of meaning.
Despite being a photographer based in Bucks County, PA, Lauren & Vinny found me through my photography services at the Jersey Shore two summers ago. I captured their engagement session in LBI, NJ and we had such a fun time that they asked me back to photograph their wedding! Despite being a bit of a drive, I just had to be there to document their wedding day!
Getting Ready at Her Parent’s Home
The day began with Lauren and her bridesmaids getting ready at her parents' home. The beautiful light, and painstakingly crafted details (by the bride’s father!) of her home in this intimate space was the perfect setting for the start of such a momentous day. Surrounded by her closest friends and family, Lauren looked radiant as her bridesmaids helped her into her gown. The atmosphere was calm but filled with excitement as everyone eagerly awaited the day ahead.
The personal connection to her home added a special touch—capturing these candid moments in a place so meaningful made the wedding day feel even more intimate.
The Epic First Look Over the Hudson River
One of the most unforgettable moments of the day came when Lauren and Vincent shared their first look. And where better than the breathtaking Hudson River as a backdrop? The view from the Hudson National Golf Club was absolutely stunning, with the calm river reflecting the sky’s soft hues. Once he turned around, Vinny’s face lit up with emotion, and the couple shared a quiet moment and private words together together before the hustle and bustle of the ceremony began.
The scenery was a perfect complement to their love, with the serene river and cool, crisp air heightening the anticipation of the vows they were about to exchange. These quiet moments before the ceremony are always so special to capture, and the first look by the river was no exception.
A Touching Ceremony in the Cold
The ceremony, held on the club’s beautiful grounds, was a sentimental yet lighthearted one. Although the temperature had dropped significantly and the guests watched snuggled up in blankets the couple provided, it didn’t dampen the love in the air. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by their closest family and friends, each of whom could feel the depth of their connection. There was not a dry eye in sight as they promised to love and cherish one another for a lifetime.
In the end, the chill was nothing compared to the warmth of the love shared by everyone in attendance.
Sunset Photos on the Golf Course
After the ceremony, the couple was whisked away for a quiet moment on the golf course, just as the sun began to set. The setting sun cast a soft, golden glow over the scene, perfect for romantic photos that perfectly encapsulated the day’s beauty. Despite the freezing temperatures, Lauren and Vincent stood hand in hand, their smiles beaming as the cool air swept around them.
These sunset portraits are often some of the most treasured moments from a wedding day, and Lauren and Vincent’s were nothing short of spectacular. The stillness of the golf course, combined with the gentle light and serene atmosphere over the water, created a peaceful and magical atmosphere that truly captured the essence of their love.
A Quick Visit from Leo, the Dog
For any pet-loving couple, having your dog involved in your wedding day is a must. Lauren and Vincent’s dog, Leo, made a brief but memorable appearance for a few photos. Leo may not have been there for the whole celebration, but his presence was definitely felt.
However, in a delightful twist, Leo made an even bigger splash as an ice sculpture! The couple had a stunning custom ice sculpture created in Leo’s likeness, which became a fun and sentimental focal point at the reception. It was a thoughtful nod to their beloved pup and added a whimsical element to the celebration.
A Sentimental and Joyful Reception
The reception was full of laughter, dancing, and heartfelt toasts that celebrated the couple’s journey together. It was clear that Lauren and Vincent’s families were just as excited about this new chapter as they were. The love in the room was palpable, and even though the temperatures outside were low, inside the venue was nothing but warmth, joy, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime. The dancing was on par all night long, capped with sentimental speeches by loved family and friends, and a final private last dance as Lauren slipped into her third dress of the night!
Final Thoughts
Despite the freezing cold, Lauren and Vincent’s wedding was full of warmth and love—thanks to the couple’s radiant spirits and the thoughtful personal touches throughout the day. From the intimate getting-ready moments at her parents’ home to the epic first look over the Hudson River, and the sunset portraits on the golf course, their wedding day was a beautiful reflection of their love for each other. And of course, Leo the dog—both in person and in ice sculpture form—was a charming reminder of the family they’ve created together.
Lauren and Vincent’s wedding at Hudson National Golf Club was a perfect blend of elegance, intimacy, and personal touches. I’m so grateful to have been able to capture their special day and wish them a lifetime of happiness as they begin this exciting new chapter together!
