I’ve had the pleasure of working with this family five times now (I love when clients become friends!!) and was so excited to photograph their maternity session in the fernery greenhouse at Morris Arboretum in the Chestnut Hill area of Philadelphia last month. The lighting there is so gorgeous and in January it’s still downright balmy inside! Greens in January! Greenhouses— and this fernery specifically— are such a great option for winter maternity shoots, especially when you have toddlers and don’t want to be outdoors for a full session in winter.
It’s a tight space to work inside of but it was fun and we made it work, getting creative and working around all the foot traffic that came in too! You wouldn’t know there were always other people inside with us!
The love this family has is so sincere. And come on, their son is just about the most adorable kid on the face of the planet.
We even braved the chilly and windy outdoor weather for a few shots by the greenhouses too! I can’t wait to meet the newest addition to this family when I photograph their home birth next month! Stay tuned!
